Exo 6 - Prep Page - Presentation vs Quiz

Hot Potatoes Exercises by Michael Marzio - Optimized for Windows IE6 at 1024 x 768

Exo 10a - Matthew - In these 2 exercises we first "present",

Exo 10b - and then "quiz".

There seem to be 2 basic ways to design an activity with Hot Potatoes: Is it primarily for illustration in order to help the student understand what he reads or hears or sees? Or is it primarily to test the student's comprehension or knowledge? Is it a presentation or is it a quiz? I usually try to combine the 2 approaches in the same exo, but in this case, 10a is obviously for illustration while 10 b is for quizzing.

Also, 10a makes the exercise in 10b more accessible to students at lower levels.

Both Matthew exos made with Jquiz. Exo 10b uses both HYBRID output and Multiple Choice output.  What is hybrid output? The exercise starts as a typing exercise, but if the student is wrong (twice in this case) what happens? And why is there one multiple choice exercise in this group of 4?
